Heart Healthy Apple & Cinnamon Overnight Overnights Recipe

Fuel your day the right way with this heart healthy apple and cinnamon overnight oats recipe! This is the perfect breakfast if you're always on-the-go, as you can pre-prep the night before (or batch make for a few day's worth of breakfasts!). Plus, it tastes just like apple pie!

Oats are a great heart healthy food - not only do they keep you full for longer, but they also contain beta glucan which helps keep cholesterol levels in check. This recipe also contains chia seeds, which are a source of omega-3. Omega-3 is vital for your heart to function. Apple adds a delicious flavour as well as being a great source of fibre, which also helps to lower cholesterol.

Here's the recipe (10 mins to prep, leave in the fridge overnight):

Ingredients

4 tbsp Oats

1 tbsp Chia Seeds

1/2 Grated Apple

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp honey (or to taste)

2 tbsp Oat Milk

2 tbsp Apple Juice

Method:

Add all of the ingredients to an airtight container, mix well, then seal shut and leave in the fridge overnight (or for at least 2 hours, until the liquid has been soaked up). 

Top with greek yoghurt, a handful of berries and nuts.
